Steps to reproduce

1. Open Kooha and try to press one of two recording-related buttons.
2. Encounter this problem

Expected behavior

No error.

I had the exact same error, but I am on wayland, so no idea if this helps you. But to fix this I installed the package xdg-desktop-portal-wlr and restarted the xdg-desktop-portal service:

systemctl --user stop xdg-desktop-portal.service
systemctl --user start xdg-desktop-portal.service

Afterwards I was able to record.

I guess you have to install a different xdg-desktop-portal-* package that fits your desktop manager.

I had the same issue. The fact is that Kooha does not work with X11.

I spent several days trying to make it work because the article that referenced this app to me stated that it was X11 and Wayland compatible, but that's not the case.
Why is that not clearer in the docs, wiki, or troubleshooting list, It is beyond me.
