Need novice section in docs

Having failed mind-reading 101 in schoolnothing is intuitively obvious to me. It would be very helpful if the docs included a simple example that would force all file and folder lists to sort A-Z. The example give offer me no clue about how to do this suchas whar spec, where to put it, etc. I'm completely lost.

Native Obsidian keep flipping my ordering bach to date equently an spontaneously.

Hi Dan, I'm sorry to hear about your poor grades in mind-reading. I also failed, but thankfully made up the marks with an extra credit in having-too-much-time-on-my-hands and a summer course in stubborn-hyper-fixations.

I do agree that the docs have a lot of room for improvement. Most of the documentation is spread across 4 markdown files in the docs folder.

I believe the best place for something like what you are asking for would be the main README file. I have specifically linked the heading I think you are looking for. While this example sorts Z-A, there are lots of other sorting methods listed below under the heading "Basic automatic sorting methods".
Simply replace order-desc: a-z in the example with one of the listed sorting methods (you would want order-asc: a-z) to change how the plugin sorts your file explorer.

It's worth noting that this example will only apply to whatever folder that specific sortspec file is in (does not effect child or parent folders). To apply to every folder, include the line target-folder: /* inbetween the two in the original example. This and more is gone into in more detail in the advanced README file, linked to at the top of the main README (as you can see, I also linked it here just for fun).
