Contributor Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers pledge to make participation in the sebuf project a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability (visible or invisible), ethnicity, gender identity and expression, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, sexual orientation, education level, or socio-economic status.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, diverse, respectful, and healthy community.

Our Standards

Positive examples of behavior include:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward others.
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
  • Providing and accepting constructive feedback gracefully.
  • Taking responsibility for mistakes and learning from them.
  • Prioritizing what’s best for the community.

Unacceptable behaviors include:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
  • Trolling, insulting or demeaning remarks.
  • Publishing private information without consent.
  • Personal or political attacks.
  • Other conduct deemed inappropriate in a professional or open-source setting.

Enforcement

Project maintainers are responsible for enforcing this Code of Conduct.

1. Reporting

If you witness or experience a violation, please email: seb@sebuf.com. Reports will be handled confidentially.

2. Response

Depending on severity, consequences may include:

  • Private warning to the offender.
  • Public or private request for apology.
  • Temporary or permanent ban from the project.

3. Scope

This code applies to behavior in project spaces (issues, PRs, mailing lists, chat) and when representing the project in public spaces (social media, conferences, etc.).

4. Enforcement Details

Maintain confidentiality of reporters. Decisions will be made by maintainers, and in complex cases, may be escalated to a wider review group.
