Ability to add new color to color palette

Is there any way to add new named colors apart from default named colors in site/globals/site.variables.
i.e: lightGrey: #f3f3f3

There is currently no way to add new colours you can only change the current ones.

There have been lots of discussions around this issue and they all come down to the same thing, how do you implement a way to allow users to add there own colours? The colours in SUI are used across lots of components and you would need to add the new colours to them all.
