Please update react native to v0.78.0 and provide New Arch Support.

There is a very noticeable delay while navigating to a screen having a Flash-list component(heavy component). I'm using RNv0.78.0 and new Arch enabled. This delay occurred only when I switched to new arch. There were no issues in old arch. Please update the react-native dependency v0.78.0. Also, Text Inputs inside the Flashlist gets unresponsive (only in release build, not in debug mode).

Current behavior

Lag experienced while navigating to a heavy flashlist component and Text Inputs items are unresponsive.

Expected behavior

There should be no lag and Text Inputs should be responsive.

To Reproduce

create a Flash List with multiple heavy components in render Item and try to navigate to this Flashlist component

Yes the current status of the package in the release build is broken in react native v0.78. numColumns is broken, not scrolling all the way down, and there is weird random large spacing between items, etc.

Same here after Updating react-native to v0.78. I started to get performance issues rows disappear after scrolling, specially when the list get larger due to pagination. the behavior wasn't appearing before updating react-native

The same issue is that MasonryFlashList and FlashList cannot scroll to the bottom and have spacing problems when using numColumns

We're working to optimize FlashList for the new arch. I tested the current FlashList and I'm not seeing any obvious issues with our samples on 0.78. Can you folks record some other videos and show the behaviour. I'll dig deeper anyway.

I think Flashlist should be optimised when it is used with @react-navigation/stack. Please check on it

Flash List breaks on Android after upgrading to RN 0.72.8 (iOS is fine). On screens like the one below, only the first list item responds to touch -- others don’t. See the recording.

@naqvitalha here is my example how list behaves during scrolling. react-native version is 0.78.2 with new arch enabled.

in RN 0.78.0+, we found RN's flat-list to be way better than before so we went back. at least until we face issues and Flastlist is updated to support 0.78.0+ and Fabric

The issues are reproducible in the react-native fixture. You have to build from this branch in release mode in order to reproduce:

I am looking into how this can be fixed now. My questions to the maintainer is though: Do you intend to add proper new arch support to v1, or is that something that you only want to add in v2?
