Hey @wizardlyhel one more thing, I saw this on Vercel, It's usually not necessary to define a custom server.js file within your Remix application when deploying to Vercel. In general, we do not recommend it.

Hydrogen always need a virtual entry, does it mean, it is nearly impossible to deploy hydrogen project to Vercel and other host platform except using Oxygen?

server.ts is the connection file from platform to Remix. Vercel docs saying you generally don't need it because they supply one for you with their platform.

The version that Hydrogen generates is specifically for working with Cloudflare workers so you wouldn't be using it one-to-one to work with Vercel.

You don't have to supply a server.ts but you lose out on the benefit of Hydrogen providing the loadedContext on various convenient functions we provide in the loader and action function.

In the Vercel doc you linked, it gave a simple example server.ts file to work with vercel. You can modify the Hydrogen generated server.ts file to match with the required changes.

Tho I don't understand what the Vercel doc means by Defining a custom server file is not supported when using the Remix Vite plugin on Vercel.

If they are talking about this setup https://remix.run/docs/en/main/guides/vite .. Hydrogen is not using vite plugin like this

Hey @wizardlyhel , thank you for the detailed reply. I really appreciate it. I think it might mean that it will be pretty hard to deploy Shopify hydrogen project to Vercel. I am trying to deploy a fresh new hydrogen template to Vercel recently and encountered many errors, then I searched the GitHub issue and found many people face a similar issue.

We don't have the chance to look into how to deploy Hydrogen onto other platforms aside from Oxygen(Cloudflare). That does mean that you would have to know the platform you want to deploy on very well in oder to attempt to do something like this. I know there are a couple shops out there have done so with success (I do not have their names) .
