Trigger a ga4 event when clicking an autocomplete result

I consider important to monitor what my customers are looking for in the search field. Unfortunately elasticsuite doesn't provide a solution for this (I don't mean when hitting enter). So I thought to trigger a ga4 event every time a customer clicks on an autocomplete result.
When clicking I would like to transmit both the product url and the word that is typed in the search bar.

If this is possible in which file should I make changes? Any ideas how to implement this?

I did some small progress on this. I copied the file form-mini.js
from vendor/smile/elasticsuite/src/module-elasticsuite-core/view/frontend/web/js/form-mini.js
to app/design/frontend/Vendor/Mycustomtheme/Smile_ElasticsuiteCore/web/js/form-mini.js

And in the .on('click vclick', function (e) I added a gtag event.

The problem is that in console I receive the following error "Uncaught ReferenceError: gtag is not defined"
I was thinking that magento 2.4.5 had the complete GA4 functionality implemented in the core. I haven't added any GA4 code in header, body or footer manually but my site already sents successfully data to google analytics. So what am I missing here?

Maybe I need to call the Magento Google Gtag object here.

Any clues?
