Is it possible to use Elasticsuite without analysis-phonetic and analysis-icu plugins?

Hi,

We have an Elasticsearch instance on our cloud server but not have rights to add plugin (we don't have all control).

Are these 2 elasticsearch plugins (analysis-phonetic, analysis-icu) completely essential for installation and operation? Or can be work but with less relevant results ?

@giyosphere Hi, we tried to install Elasticsuite modules without the ES plugins.

On setup:upgrade we have this error :

We tried to switch in core_config_data table the searchengine but we have the same issue for elasticsuite or elasticsearch7.
We also tried to add the following line in smile_elasticsuite_relevance_config_data before setup:upgrade :
default,default,spellchecking/phonetic/enable,0

Do you know how we could bypass it to run the full installation and then disable the phonetic configuration?

Hi, these plugins are required and are nowadays very common. They're even part of the official docker image made by Adobe : https://github.com/magento/magento-cloud-docker/blob/develop/images/opensearch/2.5/Dockerfile#L11

More than that, all the Opensearch/Elasticsearch hosting providers that I know are supporting these plugins and allowing to install them. If you current provider is not capable of doing that, I suggest you try with another hosting company...
