splide.add() with an array not working.

Trying to add an array of slides and it doesn't work. Docs indicate it should and I have seen a few examples that indicate it should but I am not having any luck.

In a Vue component:

const slides = [
		'<li class="splide__slide">Test 1</li>',
		'<li class="splide__slide">Test 2</li>',
		'<li class="splide__slide">Test 3</li>',
];
this.splide.add(slides); // does not add any slides
this.splide.add(slides[1]); // works

Any thing that I am missing? Thanks in advance.
