Verify how the max_sel_mux works

Sung Jin implement the max_sel_mux to limit the range of the PI Controls to a single UI sweep. I am not exactly sure how this should be set externally. He has an internal measurement but we've never used it AFAIK. We should verify that this internal measurement produces a good result and switch to using this.
