can't connect mount to Stellarium

Hi all

I need help connecting my mount to Stellarium. I have an iOptron CEM120EC. This connects via ASCOM 6.6 to iOptron commander. I have Stellarium 0.21.3. When I try and connect my Mount to Stellarium, I get "connecting" (type: local, ASCOM), but it never finishes connecting. Can someone please help ? What am I doing wrong ? many thanks

Things you are doing wrong:

• You are using a 4 year old release of Stellarium
• You are using an outdated version of ASCOM

Why is it wrong:

• As documented everywhere, ASCOM 6 does not work well with Stellarium

What to improve:

• Upgrade to ASCOM7.1
• Use Stellarium 25.4

Thanks for that Georg … so does it work with ASCOM 7.1 and Stellarium 25.4 ? Also, where do I go to install the latest ASCOM ? When I look for ASCOM I usually ask Google which shows the link to the main ASCOM website, and from there I download the "current version", whatever it may be, and look into the release notes and clear english-language instructions which have been written to be actually read by users. Likewise, the actual telescope driver may have seen an update. Questions about ASCOM releases should be placed on the ASCOM website.
ASCOM+GreenSwamp server works with my NEQ3, but I know nothing about your system, so cannot give any guarantee. Updating something that doesn't work is just the general advice, as errors that may creep in are later fixed again. We cannot give any further advice on a 4.5-year-old release.

Well I found both sites and have upgraded ASCOM and Stellarium – thank you so much for your suggestion.
