Ascom Celestron Nexstar 8 telescope connects but won't slew

When you connect to a Celestron Nexstar 8 via Ascom it connects, communicates and reports its position but thereafter fails to slew when instructed.
I've attached two Ascom log files. The first is from Stellarium (which fails slew) and the second from Catres du ciel (which does slew)

The Ascom telescope simulator for .NET also fails to slew unless the Auto Unpark / Track on start is checked. "Park" is referenced in the Stellarium Ascom log. Could this be more than a coincidence?
