Please disable select object when clicking in menu area

Expected Behaviour

Clicking just above bottom edge or close to left edge of screen should popup the menu and retain currently selected object or not select an object at all.

Actual Behaviour

That does happen, but the currently selected object gets 'overwritten' by the object under the left or bottom menu bar. This is very annoying when an object is selected and one wants to select a menu item.

With some high-accuracy effort I can indeed click between the left- or bottom-edge buttons. Has not happened often enough in 15 years of practice to annoy me, though. When I want to press a button, I press the button that highlights on mouse-over. When you manage to point between buttons and no button lights up, you "click through".

Well, the issue apparently is that the target for clicking through is along the very edge, which for a fullscreen Stellarium window implies an effectively infinite target for the Fitts' law. This is a serious usability problem generally. (I'm having a similar problem with xfce4-windowck-plugin, whose Close button has some kind of a margin that makes it not clickable at the border, forcing me to pull the mouse a bit to be able to click after having moved the mouse all the way forward-right.)

But the issue is that it happens when clicking on the moment the menu is not yet activated when the mouse pointer is not close to the edge.
That happens when on a touchscreen I click close to the edge and it first selects an object and then pops up the menu. Actual,ly it should be the other way around.
