The Problem
I'm running Fedora 44 KDE with an Nvidia 4070 Ti SUPER card and the proprietary driver. I just heard about Stirling and wanted to give it a try, but it crashes with this error:
Gdk-Message: 13:29:33.449: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.
Running with WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 gives a bit more detail:
[2301448.392] {Display Queue} wl_display#1.error(wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#48, 4, "explicit sync is used, but no acquire point is set")
Gdk-Message: 13:30:11.465: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.
From a quick internet search, I got the hint here to run with WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 and after that, the app launches now (but I haven't used it much just yet).
