[Bug]: Embedded subtitles not being loaded in Chromium-based browsers #1110

Description

Stremio-Web Version

web.stremio.com

Browser

Chrome

Platform / Device type

Windows

What Happened?

For some reason in some streams, embedded subtitles don't get loaded by Stremio Web on Chromium-based browsers.
I've tested on Firefox some streams that I know have this issue on Chromium and this issue doesn't happen there.

I investigated further and it seems that on Chromium-based browsers, Stremio Web doesn't even fetch the m3u8 subtitles playlist for some reason.

In Firefox, you can see here that it fetches the subtitles playlist then from it, it fetches the subtitle segments (what should happen):

However, in any Chromium-based browser (Brave in this case):

It skips fetching embedded subs from the streaming server and goes for addon subs.

Notes

I found this Reddit post related to this issue.

I don't know if this helps but, I've also tried extracting the embedded subs using FFmpeg and FFprobe, then adding them myself from devtools in a Chromium-based browser and that works fine.
