The Libretro core was not loaded

I'm cloning your project, and when I run the application, I encounter this issue. I tried downloading the version from Google Play, and it works fine. Is there a way to fix this?

I believe the Google Play version works perfectly because of this feature: https://developer.android.com/guide/playcore/feature-delivery

I think the GitHub version downloads the cores from a repository. This removes the dependency on Google services for those using F-Droid etc.

If I'm not mistaken there is a link to "lemuroid-cores".

I have cloned this project and run it. I am currently on the freeBundleDebug (default) version and encountered the above error. I tried switching to the Release version, but there is no release.jks file.

I want to develop based on this source code, not just use it. I tried downloading the version from the Google Play Store, and it doesn't encounter this error.

You can also use microg by now since it support play asset delivery if turned on, so no need for playstore and play services if thats bothering you

What version are you using?
This issue should be fixed since 1.16.1 and 1.16.2
