Hercules: The Legendary Journeys Can't Load Title Screen

Ok, so opening a Hercules: TLJ rom on Bizhawk (or any mupen emulator) has the screen go black after the "memory pak" screens show up. I know the rom itself works because it runs on PJ64. Any help??

If you have indeed tested on mupen64plus outside of bizhawk and its still not working, then this is an upstream bug that is unlikely to be fixed here.

Still broken in 2.6.2, but works in upstream. I used GLideN64 2.0, and in the duplicate issue above, Spikestuff used Rice.

edit: I made a tool which randomly changes the video settings (for GLideN64), but none of the sets it produced magically fixed this game.
