SM64 romhack works in Mupen upstream but not EmuHawk

In Star Revenge 3.5 (a SM64 hack), entering course 4 from the pipe at the end of the slide hangs the emulator such that it doesn't halt unless by outside termination.

CNR on Mupen CLI 2.5. Patched rom hash is SHA1:DF86EE7916167706C8F07698920107E19C2CF516, unpatched is SHA1:9BEF1128717F958171A4AFAC3ED78EE2BB4E86CE. I got 41s on the slide, though it took me a couple dozen attempts because I was using a keyboard.

edit: Same rom, but on BizHawk at f95bcf0: I can't even advance past the file select screen (it whitescreens), and the music is all sorts of messed up. I was able to use EmuHawk and open the Hex Editor, however, and didn't see OP's reported freeze. I've tentatively put this in the "Update Mupen" milestone because my copy of Mupen is newer than our submodule.

It works as intended on Project 64 1.6.
