Lab Session for Week 4 and Assignment 4.

The Lab Session and the assignment use the same notebook.

Lab Session

During the Lab Session, read through the notebook and complete the questions.

Assignment Brief

Deadline: 11:59PM on Friday Oct 26 2018

How and what to submit

Please download the notebook and complete the exercises.

Before the deadline, upload to MOLE the Notebook with the solutions to the exercises.

Name your .ipynb file as NAME_REGCOD.ipynb, where NAME is your full name, and REGCOD is your registration code.

Assessment Criteria

  1. Being able to identify the properties of different types of basis functions.
  2. Being able to identify when a model is linear in the parameters and/or in the inputs.
  3. Being able to code in python non-linear regression using basis functions.

The number of marks for each exercise is specified in the notebook.

Late submissions

We follow Department's guidelines about late submissions. Please, see this link for COM4509 and this link for COM6509.

Use of unfair means
