[Bug Report]: Functions stop working after a short time in both Server and Singleplayer #783

System Information
Client (PC):
CPU: Intel Core i7-14700K
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4
RAM: 32 GB (2×16 GB) DDR4-3200
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070
Server:
Hosted server (G-Portal)
Allocated RAM: 16 GB
Modpack: Craftoria
Version: 1.29.0 (Issue also occurs in older versions, e.g., 1.27.0)
Environment:
Multiplayer server (G-Portal)
Singleplayer (local)
Issue occurs identically in both environments
Description of the Issue
Several independent constructions work correctly at first, but then completely stop functioning after approximately 30–45 seconds without any apparent cause. After some time, functionality may briefly return before failing again.
The issue does not appear to be triggered by any specific action and occurs even without chunk changes or player movement.
Observed Symptoms
Systems work normally → stop after ~35 seconds
Functionality may temporarily return after a few minutes
Failure occurs again shortly afterward
Behavior repeats cyclically
Rejoining does not fix the issue
Server restart does not resolve the issue
Affected Examples
- Mob Farm + Pufferfish Skill (Level System)
Farm initially works correctly
After ~35 seconds, no further progress is gained
Normal mobs still function, but Pufferfish skill progression stops
- Ars Nouveau — Tablet of Sunrise
Works normally at first
Stops functioning completely after a short time
Chunk Dependency
The issue does not only occur when leaving the chunk.
It also happens while the player remains standing directly next to the structures.
Tests and Troubleshooting Attempts
Server and Installation Related
Server restart → no solution
Verification of game files → no solution
Test on a separate server with identical version → issue also present
Downgrade to an older version → issue still present
Mod-Related Tests
Suspected conflict between FTBChunks and Mekanism
Mekanism structures present → test server without Mekanism → issue still present
Removal of the c2me mod (server-side)
→ No improvement
Changes to FTBChunks configuration
Fake Players enabled
→ No improvement
Additional Observations
Server developers reported chunk loading errors in the logs
Issue occurs regardless of player actions
Affects multiple mods simultaneously
Not limited to a single mechanic
Reproducibility
Occurs reliably after a short period of gameplay (approximately 30–45 seconds).
Expected Behavior
All constructions should continue functioning as long as the chunk is loaded and resources are available.
Actual Behavior
Mechanics stop working seemingly without cause and only resume briefly after some time before failing again.
