Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. My setting under "Settings -> Content -> Fetch Channel Tabs" is "Shorts" is not ticked.
  2. "Fetch from dedicated feed when available" is deactivated

Expected behavior

Shorts do not show up in my subscription feed or search results.

Actual behavior

Shorts are not showing up in search results but do appear in my subscription feed ("What's New")

Screenshots/Screen recordings

shorts appear

Logs

No response

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 12 SP2A.220505.008

Affected device model

Google Pixel 3a

Additional information

  1. I have gone to "Settings -> History and cache" and cleared the cache on everything (metadata, watch history, playback positions, search history)

  2. After I've done all steps listed under "Steps to reproduce the bug" and this wiping of the cache, I waited to make sure that new uploads that appeared after that point in time still show shorts.
And yes, new shorts from channels I'm subscribed to that were uploaded after I've done all those things keep appearing in my "What's new".
