Playback rewinds to start when resuming the app

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Start playing a YT video
2. Pause it
3. minimize the app (i.e put it in background)
4. if too much time is passed (I haven't counted how may minutes, likely 10 15 or so) if I bring NewPipe in front again and I resume playing from the point where the video was paused, the video is rewound back to beginning. This is frustrating, because one can't take pauses, the pausing position is lost every time

Expected behavior

The paused video should resume playing from the previous position without rewinding

Actual behavior

The only way to take a pause is actually closing the app. If I do so, and I then locate the previously watched video again (which can be frustrating), then the position where it was stopped is remembered, and playing starts from that position. But if I just minimize the app, after some time of inactivity the video gets rewound, which is very annoying.

Before trashing this issue as a duplicate, please consider that I have searched thru existing issues using some obvious keywords but I could find nothing relevant. Also I could not find this problem mentioned in the FAQ. So please don't blame me. If this problem is already known and you don't want or can't fix it, you are kindly required to specify it clearly in the FAQ. Please note that there is also a relevant thread on Reddit about this bug and people are very annoyed. I will donate only when I see this bug fixed. Thx.

I don't know the exact steps but I also have this issue. You will also lose the timestamp you were in a video which is annoying because it goes back to the start. Therefore I close newpipe completely and open it again, this way it won't rewind and I can continue watching from the point I left. That being said I don't think this will be fixed until the version with the new player gets released (which hopefully does not have this bug).

Same here. To pause and resume, the only solution is closing NP and then locate the previous video again: this way the old play position is maintained
