Code of Conduct

Our Standard

Moira is a serious project built around correctness, clarity, and long-term trust.

Participation in this repository, its issue tracker, discussions, and pull requests is expected to remain respectful, professional, and constructive. Strong disagreement is acceptable. Disrespect is not.

Expected Behavior

Participants are expected to:

  • engage in good faith
  • communicate with professionalism and basic courtesy
  • focus criticism on ideas, implementations, assumptions, and evidence rather than on people
  • accept that technical review may be direct, detailed, and exacting
  • remain open to correction, clarification, and evidence-based disagreement
  • help keep discussion focused, relevant, and readable

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not acceptable:

  • personal attacks
  • harassment, intimidation, or abusive language
  • bad-faith argumentation
  • trolling, baiting, or deliberately disruptive behavior
  • misrepresentation of another person’s position
  • repetitive hostility after a decision or clarification has been given
  • spam, self-promotion, or off-topic disruption
  • discriminatory or hateful conduct of any kind

On Technical Disagreement

Moira operates in domains where numerical correctness, conceptual clarity, doctrinal distinctions, and implementation law matter. As a result, disagreement may at times be sharp and highly specific.

That is acceptable.

What is not acceptable is turning technical disagreement into personal conflict.

Critique the model, the implementation, the assumptions, the evidence, or the architecture. Do not attack the person making the argument.

Maintainer Review and Boundaries

The maintainer reserves the right to moderate discussions, close conversations, reject contributions, or remove content that does not align with this code of conduct or with the serious working standards of the project.

This includes situations where conduct is not overtly abusive but is persistently unproductive, inflammatory, manipulative, or disruptive.

Enforcement

Instances of unacceptable behavior may result in actions including:

  • a warning
  • comment removal
  • issue or discussion lock
  • pull request closure
  • temporary restriction from participation
  • permanent ban from the project spaces

The response will depend on the severity and pattern of the behavior.

Reporting

If you experience or observe behavior that violates this code of conduct, report it to:

isopgem@outlook.com

Please include relevant context, links, screenshots, or other supporting information where possible.

Final Note

Moira is maintained as a serious computational project. High standards for truth, rigor, and review do not require hostility, and they should never become an excuse for it.

The expectation is simple: be respectful, be serious, and engage the work honestly.
