Feedback - First time at school

Hard concept! -> Tutorial & Simplify Concept

Kids showed that the initial concept was too hard to be explained in few minutes. Therefore:

  • Game concept had to be reworked and simplified
  • Even in the simplified version, an in-game tutorial (on ESC) had been added

Language barrier! -> More time to read

Some kids showed to have a language barrier. Therefore:

  • When working on the game balance, it was taken into account that kids would need more time to read and understand what was news about. Therefore we pause the game during the "new post" screen, so players can have infinite time to read through the selected news.

What if, a game shop?

One child has suggested adding an in-game shop, however, since the game concept was reworked and simplified, the in-game shop idea no longer is applicable.

Feedback - Online with children

Multiplayer || Leaderboard -> Need interaction -> Leaderboard added

Some kids have suggested adding a multiplayer to the game, and some have suggested adding a leaderboard to compete with others' scores. Both suggestions meant that children wanted some sort of interaction with other players - either a real-time in-game interaction in the case of a multiplayer or competition in a form of an after-game leaderboard. Since the current game concept is not suitable for multiplayer, we chose the leaderboard option to fill the children's needs.

Ipad support

Some children asked if the game worked on the iPad, We, therefore, tried to make a few adjustments and fixes to make it work, but we have not succeeded in that. However, since the main target platform is a PC browser, this is not a problem.

Customization

Kids have also suggested adding customization of the game characters. However, this was only a "fun" suggestion, not a significant need. Thus, we had to focus on other things that were more significant.

General Feedback

In general, kids enjoyed the game, so we knew we were going in the right direction.
