Estimate normals investigation #46
Description
There is something strange happening with the estimate normals function that means it's only runnable in spawn mode.
I've added a "fix" to force the start mode to spawn but there is also some weird dependency issues going on here.
Need some time to investigate.
Also add a decent amount of more integration level tests that touch the multiprocessing parts of the code.
