Game crashes after trying to switch to Vulkan for graphical api

Delete d3d9.cfg and don't use vulkan.

Same issue here, hope there is a fix as performance on directx 9 leaves a LOT to be desired

Edit: Solved by updating gpu drivers

I had the same issue, deleted d3d9.cfg as recommended and it fixed it.
Then I turned Game > Check for Fusion Fix updates on and ended up in a crash-loop on starting the game as the mod always recreated the cfg file on start.
Another solution that works even with the updates enabled is deleting vulkan.dll instead.

In my case the fix was to install the latest (and i do mean the very newest) nvidia drivers. The driver I used before was 3-4 months old

Hmm, apparently I forgot to answer, but the week ago I wanted to say I was already on the latest available from Nvidia App (no beta or anything).
But today an Nvidia driver update popped up and after installing it the game no longer crashes even with Vulkan loaded.

Though running the built-in benchmark I get about 67 FPS on average with DXVK and about 115 FPS without, so guess I don't want it anyways 😁
