ffmpeg plugin instead of standalone exe

Is it possible to provide a ffmpeg filter pass plugin(or c source )that can be compiled/loaded to the ffmpeg executable so that we can use the feature on demand?

I think it is technically feasible and may be available in future versions. However, the internal API of FFmpeg is unstable, so there will be some challenges.

The api of ffmpeg did change recently.
However ffmpeg 8.0 is about to be released.
You can re-consider once it's out.
