• Feature/separate entities by @TimSoethout in Feature/separate entities #151

WARNING Very big revamp. So expect Breaking Changes, potentially for HomeKit users.
Make sure you have backups if testing, so you can recover. Feedback is appreciated though.

• Separate entities instead of storing everything in attributes, in proper HA style.
• Should keep history in Power and Energy entities.
• Finally Unit tests, Proper CI, Linting
• The inverter control switch device class changed from OUTLET to SWITCH; If you have automations/dashboards that filter by device class outlet, update them to use device class switch

Please try it out. I only tested it with my own Inverter, not with HomeKit, although tests for HomeKit were added.
Let me know if this works, and what you're missing.

Hello Tim,
I have created simple templates in HA presenting me 6 most important data of my inverter (pv_solar_out, pv_battery_in, pv_battery_out, pv_grid_in, pv_grid_out, pv_home_in ... it should be easy to understand what they are for).
In version 7.x, pv_home_in was configured as below:

- name: pv_home_in
  unique_id: pv_home_in
  unit_of_measurement: kWh
  state_class: total_increasing
  device_class: energy
  icon: mdi:home-import-outline
  state: >-
    {{ state_attr("sensor.homekit_homekit_gw_homekit_no_serial", "Charts_consumptionOfLoad") | float }}

In version 8.x, I am not able to find entity or attribute or set ot them, which I can use to calculate "energy consumed by house daily".
Do you have any idea how to do it in that version?

Just a question to Tim: are you planning to do something with charging batteries connected to the Goodwe inverter? I have a new inverter with two Lync Home D batteries and am using HA and want to control the way these batteries in relation to energy prices (EPEX)
