How do i stop playstore/xyz taking over some of the updates?!?

Keeps ocassionally losing ownership of some browser installations, & their ongoing updates.

Usually seems to be Firefox Beta (don't use stable) & Firefox Focus. Infuriating time waster.

I did the original install for both (all browsers I'm using with FFU!) via FFUpdater.

Playstore is usually the culprit, though sometimes Aurora (FOSS Playstore clone) too!

At least with Aurora, I can blacklist apps that I don't want it to handle, but Playstore's "auto-update" tickbox - is useless!

To my knowledge there is only one solution to it:

• you must have Android 15 on your phone
• and you must install the app with FFUpdater (if already installed, you have to uninstall the app first)

Only then I can use setRequestUpdateOwnership() https://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/pm/PackageInstaller.SessionParams#setRequestUpdateOwnership(boolean)

Optionally indicate whether the package being installed needs the update ownership enforcement. Once the update ownership enforcement is enabled, the other installers will need the user action to update the package even if the installers have been granted the INSTALL_PACKAGES permission. Default to false. The update ownership enforcement can only be enabled on initial installation. Set this to true on package update is a no-op.

3 items I hid from the main update pane, have appeared.
FairEmail/Orbot/Thunderbird. I can't get then to go away.
I manage their updates elsewhere, so i disabled/hid them.

@J-HS-L sorry to hear that. Sadly, I was busy at work.

I just discover another bug ticket that the "hide" button does not work after restarting the app. I will try to fix the hide-bug this or next week.

After done launched play, still showing an update for ff beta.
That's annoying. Sadly I am out of ideas how to fix it.
