Far fetched? Pronunciation API

As a long term goal, it would be very useful to integrate a pronunciation API, so that the learner can tap on the word and it is read aloud by the app.

I personally see two problems with the suggestion:

• If you want a phonetic transcription you would need to input it somehow. Since there is no 'phonetic keyboard' you would need to emulate this in the app (e.g. through buttons).
• There is no text-to-speech engine usable. Therefore we would need to ship our own engine.

I'm open for contributions for this issue.
