Discussion: How to handle smaller events without webpages and graphics

Not all events will require their own pages on websites and custom graphics. for many, their information is contained entirely within the lines of text:
ex:

title: Halloween Movie Night
location: Gzowski Field
time: October 1st, 2024, 8pm-11pm

not much other information is needed and it would be redundant to write a whole page for it.

Instead, we need a way to incorporate it into our UI without being disruptive

Will throw my personal opinion here into the chat, we need to enforce a strict UI on this page that enforces images, even if just the title on a background. You need to enforce a specific style on a specific content type or it will look weird

To furthur discuss this problem, we do not currently have a full outline for what events in the club will look like, as we get more information we can likely produce better ideas. The smaller issue to solve here is what if we are not hosting a seperate site one idea is just ot have it add to calender (I am thinking we could just ship the event data to a dynamic nextjs route and return an ical object), this could be done locally but the nextjs is a lot easier and easier to maintain (This also would give us some analytics data really easily).

The second problem is what about small events that we dont need concept art for while @Kara-Zor-El makes a good point about consistency maybe a solution is a seperate events listing for smaller upcoming events. Maybe based off the NewsItem element.

These are problems that we can solve in the future though as for now we have a few options we could base64 encode an ical object in the href manually if really needed for now, additionally people can just manually add it to their calender. and our current events all have supporting data, Another general idea is we require an href because events should have information and we just link to a static png or pdf of the event information (i really hate when i run into this on websites as it is hard to get more information but its an idea). Alterantively maybe we link to a google calender event or something like that.
