Just downloaded the new Tribler-8.3.0.dmg on my m1 mac mini running 26.2 (25C56) and once extracted to /Applications and trying to open by right click open I consistently get:

This is just MacOS way of saying you did not get it from the app store.

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tribler.app

will fix it.

I think you are referring to the "unknown developer" message, which can be forced open. This is a different message that says the file is corrupt, it cannot be opened even with a sledge hammer, because I tried figuratively speaking. Joyous holidays to you! Instead of trying with a figurative sledge hammer, please try with the command I shared.
I was able to reproduce the "damaged" issue and work around it (on x86_64 MacOS).
