“Show notification” causes a consistent ≈ 1 s delay every ⪆ 8 s.

Prerequisites

• I am running the latest app version.

• I checked to make sure that issue has not already been filled.

What The Problem Is

“Show notification” being enabled causes the GUI to freeze every ≈ 3 – 4 s for ≈ 2 s. Disabling it remediates the problem:

None of the relevant options depicted as enabled make any difference whether enabled or disabled.

How To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/repo/com.truemlgpro.wifiinfo_1610.apk.

2. Leave “Show notification” enabled (by default).

Expected behavior

Whatever's erroneously running on the same thread as the GUI shouldn't be.

@TrueMLGPro, although it wasn't present earlier, now that my smartphone is running more slowly, it is. Does AOSP provide something equivalent to perf, so that I can record a performance profile? I see com.android.traceur:
