License choice rationale (MIT) #31

Description

Current license
This project is licensed under the MIT License.

Why we chose this license
We chose the MIT License because it is a permissive open-source license that allows others to use, modify, and distribute the software with minimal restrictions. This aligns with the goals of this course and supports reuse of the package in educational and research settings.

Alternatives considered
We considered more restrictive licenses such as GPL, but decided against them because they impose copyleft requirements that were not necessary for this project. Our goal was to keep the package easy to adopt and extend by others.

Final decision
The MIT License provides a good balance between openness, simplicity, and broad usability, making it an appropriate choice for this project.
