Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We pledge to make our community welcoming, safe, and equitable for all.

We are committed to fostering an environment that is respecting and promoting the dignity, rights, and contributions of all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, caste, color, age, physical characteristics, neurodiversity, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, language, philosophy or religion, national or social origin, socio-economic position, other characteristics.

We extend the privilege of participation to all members of our community, including contributors, maintainers, moderators, and organizers.

Our Standards

Examples of behaviours that contribute to a positive environment:

  1. Respecting the community and diverse perspectives and experiences.
  2. Engaging with empathy and kindness towards all.
  3. Accounability for our actions and contributions.
  4. Providing constructive feedback with grace.
  5. Supporting the well-being and growth of the community.

Examples of unacceptable behaviours by participants:

  1. Violating boundaries of another participant.
  2. Personal comments on an individual or group’s appearance, identity, or personal characteristics.
  3. Communication that is sexually suggestive or inappropriately intimate.
  4. Using or sharing information about others without their knowing and permission.
  5. Engaging in acts of violence or harassment towards anyone.

Enforcement

In the instance that one violates the Code of Conduct, please email sharma.mantram@gmail.com. Appropriate and fair measures will be taken by the Community Moderators to handle this immediately.

Community Moderators will be responsible for making judgments on whether a violation has occured and communication will be directly with the involved parties.

Enforcement Guidelines

Community Moderators will follow these guidelines when addressing actions that violate this code of conduct.

  1. Correction

    1. Event: Use of derogatory language, signs or inappropriate behaviour.
    2. Consequence: A private conversation to address the violation and discuss corrections.
  2. Warning

    1. Event: A single incident or series of incidents.
    2. Consequence: A written warning outlining the behaviour, its impact and next steps if continues.
  3. Temporary Ban

    1. Event: Repeated violations which have been addressed before or a single serious violation.
    2. Consequence: A written notice explaining the duration of the temporary ban and expectations for returning to the community.
  4. Permanent Ban

    1. Event: Ongoing or severe violations that compromise community safety or well-being.
    2. Consequence: A written notice and permanent removal of access from all related community spaces.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces and participation. It also applies beyond this space to when an individual represents the community elsewhere. This could be anything from using the official email addresses, posting from a official social media, or participating in events as a designated representative.
