Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

CircleUp is built for communities that depend on trust. We hold ourselves to the same standard. We pledge to make participation in this project a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity.

Our Standards

Expected behaviour:

  • Use welcoming and inclusive language
  • Respect differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Accept constructive criticism gracefully
  • Focus on what is best for the community
  • Show empathy toward other contributors

Unacceptable behaviour:

  • Harassment, insults, or derogatory comments in any form
  • Personal or political attacks
  • Publishing others' private information without consent
  • Trolling or deliberately disruptive conduct
  • Any conduct that would be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying standards and will take fair and appropriate corrective action in response to any unacceptable behaviour. They have the right to remove, edit, or reject contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies in all project spaces — GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, Discord, and any other official CircleUp channels — and when an individual is representing the project in public.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive or unacceptable behaviour may be reported by opening a private issue or emailing the maintainers. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. Maintainers are obligated to maintain confidentiality.

Violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the project.

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
