Dependency @sapui5/types is problematic for open-source projects

I am currently working on a project where we develop an open-source software and we wanted to use the linter because it is under the Apache 2.0 License. Unfortunately we discovered the dependency to @sapui5/types, which isn't Open Source. This causes licensing conflicts for our Open Source projects.

Would it be possible to somehow add @openui5/types instead, to have no licensing issues?

thanks a lot for your request. That's a valid point. Currently, @sapui5/types is under SAP Developer License Agreement which fits for most SAP customers very well. However, I totally agree with you that we should offer a fully "open source" solution. I will discuss this enhancement request with the team.

This enhancement request is SAP internally tracked in backlog item CPOUI5FOUNDATION-1093.

Once we make the UI5 version and -framework configurable, this should be solved. Then, only if the SAPUI5 framework is used, the SAPUI5 types are installed.
