Share data with Google Earth Engine community

Hi! We discussed this with Google Earth Engine directly at one point (back in 2022) but the limitation is that we need to upload the relevant data to their platform, which is not realistic for the full scope of our mapping data.

I know Google has substantially improved their tools for integrating with third party datasets in the meantime – do you know of a way our existing vector tiles can be used in GEE? If there is an obvious way to do this, we can include it in the catalog.

We are exploring the idea of creating a static, periodic "data release" snapshot of Macrostrat data with clear documentation and attribution. This product could be uploaded to GEE through a standard process, as well as potentially helping with requests such as #253. However, this may take some time to get to.

I haven't provided data to GEE so I can't speak to that process but I do know that they host lots of massive datasets. It's possible there is more room for version control via the community catalog, but I don't know.
