Description
Is your feature request related to a problem?
I would like to be able to inspect the sliced object also in it's lateral X- & Y-axis cross-sections, like you can do in Z-axis. Sometimes it's frustrating trying to figure out how the internal parts of an object are sliced and how how it might fold-out in the print. Possibility to inspect Z-axis by layers is obviously natural, because that's the axis the object is sliced along, but sometimes it's not quite enough and lateral cross-sections on X- and Y-axis would be helpful. This would help detect better, if the model has issues with gaps or too thin walls etc. to print correctly, so you have a chance to get back to your design software and make changes as needed.
Describe the solution you'd like
A slider function similar to inspecting the layers, but to cut the object sideways on X- or Y-axis by selection. Of course it's a bit different, because layers what the slicer produces, but there could either a fixed lateral resolution like 0.10mm, or it could be possible to select from a group of preset resolutions, which ever seems the most appropriate for most uses, 0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 for example.
Describe alternatives you've considered
None, that would be a feature to further improve users opportunities to detect the sliced object that it's ok and printable before the actual printing process.
Affected users and/or printers
Users who like to detect the sliced object carefully before the printing to be sure it's all worth printing, aka hopefully most of us.
Additional information & file uploads
Design software like Autodesk Fusion 360 for example has this kind of feature implemented, but it doesn't help enough, due to the object is not sliced for print there.
