End-of-year thoughts

Similar to #188, here are some things to think about for next year:

• What changes should be made to the teaching structure (formally) to make it more fair?
  • Compensation for guest lecturers
  • Opportunities for course development / teaching for EEB grad students
• Who else in EEB or UofT Coders would be interested in teaching? (Asher said variety is good, and we don't have to have all or even most people be from EEB)
• How much bigger could the class be?
• What other changes should we make for next year?
  • Look at the survey comments - lots of good ideas
  • Students will need more guidance on what makes a good presentation. Their analysis is good overall, but presentation structure and style could be improved. Perhaps we should cover this in class or provide examples of the kinds of presentations we're looking for. Ideally find some research about good presentation techniques.

Thoughts for next year: telling them to use some kind of style guide and a) report statistical values in-text (rather than saying "we found a weak correlation), b) if they want to report their models/statistics in tables they need to be formatted according to the style guide rather than copied from the R console, and c) they need to specify which variables were the predictors/dependent variables when describing what statistical models they used in the "methods" sections
