Alert or UI dialog (ALT+2 on input cell with no outputs) freezes app interface

When pressing ALT+2 on an input cell that has no associated output, a popup correctly appears warning that there is no output cell. However, after this popup is displayed, keyboard input becomes completely unresponsive in the notebook — I can no longer type in any cell.

The only workaround is to restart the kernel.

I am thinking it could be actually electron bug... otherwise it is hard to explain.

We upgraded electron version, but we don't have a linux machine at the moment (xmas holidays ;D). However, you can still try it out:
