I can’t get GazeAt to work.

I have downloaded and installed version 1.1 of GazeAt. I’m not sure what to do next to get it working.

• On the main screen, adjusting the controls makes no difference, and the keyboard actions just sound the alert.
• Using another application such as Zoom I don’t see any change.

I’m using an M4 Mac Mini with Studio Display. I do have an additional monitor using HDMI and a third monitor connected via the DisplayLink software.

I’ve tried installing the extension, and clicking the AI Processing button. I don’t know what else there is to do.

You might be having the same problem as I am having: Incompatible CPU.
Here’s how you test it:

1. Open GazeAt
2. Select your camera, to start the live preview
3. Select the Black icon labeled “Console” in GazeAt’s interface, this will change the display preview to a Console window showing you any activity occurring
4. You can change it back by selecting Settings
5. The window shows system activity related to your machine

The errors (displayed in red text) I got were:
"[Python] PythonBackendManager: Failed to start backend: Error
Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=86 “Bad CPU type in Executable”

I have a 2019 iMac with a Radeon Pro 560X 4GB GPU

In a couple of days, I will try my wife’s MacMini, it’s newer and has better CPU and GPU. FWIW, Bluetooth capability died about six months ago. I’m certain it wouldn’t hurt to have a newer computer with more memory anyway. All it takes is money, right?
