History as card stacks

One thing I've long wanted from browsers is better history visualization. It'd be slick to have browsing within Webmemex's "card" style UX to stack as I browse--perhaps with the ability to pull out cards or, if I go back and click a link, have that fork out into a separate card/stack.

Visually, I'm thinking something more or less like Semantic-UI's Stacked Segments:

As we discussed (out of band), history visualisation is definitely part of the plan. Still pondering what approach to take though. To be continued..
