Tab characters break layout

Hi!

I am working with a codebase that uses tabs for indentation. Unfortunately tabs occuring on the left side of a diff, misalign the right side by one space to the left. It also appears to interact with line wrapping in a pathological way, resulting in fundamentally pretty short lines wrapped for no apparent reason.
