Some winetricks packages have invalid links and cannot be downloaded

Hello,
I am working currently on a project that requires wmi and ie8 packages. However, the links to the windows executables seem to be invalid and throw these errors:

This of course isn't a winetricks error per say but it blocks the package of being installed. Has this previously ever happened, and what would be the suggested solution to this?

It seems you can add riched30 package to the list

Using winetricks 20240105 - sha256sum: 17da748ce874adb2ee9fed79d2550c0c58e57d5969cc779a8779301350625c55 with wine-9.0 (Ubuntu 9.0~repack-4build3) and WINEARCH=win32

Could it be that web archive are having issues? According to downdetector, there are a few reports over the last 24hours

Yea, the web archive doesn't work for some these packages anymore, and idk if it will. However, I found a workaround in case you need a quick fix. But it does require that you have a build that already contains your winetricks installed package.

1. Locate your package using find / -iname 'InstMsiA.exe' 2>/dev/null
   • You should see the output path for it
2. Copy the winetricks package from your existing app/container
3. Put it in your apps/containers respective .cache folder, it might require to make a folder as well, which in you case might look like:

mkdir -p "/root/.cache/winetricks/riched30"
cp "path/to/your/InstMsiA.exe" "/root/.cache/winetricks/riched30"

Not sure if this will be fixed any time soon, but I hope so.

It's great that our solutions are align. I came up with the same solution to find the InstMsiA.exe file and I published the package in my package manager since my goal is to build the image in a pipeline.
