[enhancement] Customize activity type (it is now possible to implement)

It appears that this feature could be possible to implement now - see:

I've already seen some apps for rich present (like CustomRP) that allow for the choosing of the activity type

There were some previously created issues about this topic but those were closed a long time ago, I'm opening this one to attract attention to this matter again.
