It is so very common that devices have broken or unimplemented specifications, relying on hacky methods within the mihome react plugins.

There is absolutely no way for users to communicate these issues with makers and they seem uninterested in fixing them of their own volition.

The latest issue has really irked me though because unlike other ecosystem products, this seems to be a Xiaomi product.

The property whose access field is [] is ususally used as the parameter for actions and events.
Like xiaomi.feeder.iv2001, siid=2 aiid=1 "Pet Food Out" action's in field has a parameter 8, which means the input parameter for the action is piid=8 property in the same service. siid=2 piid=8 "Feeding Measure" property serves as a parameter for the action, not as a function of the device.

So the properties are actually just placeholders in order to define aiid argument format/value?

I guess in that case my expectation would be that target-feeding-measure (siid 2 piid 7) would act as the default value if no argument is passed to pet-food-out (siid 2 aiid 1) otherwise what is it's purpose?

Many other properties still do not work, such as food measures, battery and desiccant - despite the properties being defined.
