I thought I already added the french (by Google translate) to the addon, but seems I never got to do it.

No programming knowledge is required :-)
Only a bit how to use the Qt tools and the basic github use. (Cloning a project, contributing to a project)
But you can also post the translation files here, (see the messages.json, Systray-X.fr.qm and Systray-X.fr.ts files)

I will add them to the tree.

I have added the base files for the fr localization in the develop branch

Everything is done.
The only problem is I can't push to github repo, due to lacking authorization
And if I can add json file:

GitHub answer that "we don't support that file type" for .ts and .qm.

No, it's OK.
Here are the three files.
By the way, I compiled myself the app. The extension is fine. But the companion app is still in english. I also enclosed the generated SysTray-X app.

Everything is translated. No extra action is needed by you.
But the Qt part did not find the translation file because it was not added in the resource file list. I fixed it and works perfectly now. And I updated the "help" in #31 to include the extra edit needed.

You opened a new issue #226 "Restarting TB"
Was typing to fast and scrambled restarting into reset, sorry.
It seems an easy request but I do not know if that is possible. All the processes started from an app are "belonging" to that app. If you kill the main app, all the children of that app will also be shutdown automatically by the OS.
There are functions to disconnect the children applications but that creates other problems like "is the parent app already down before I try to start it again" e.g. Starting TB while TB is running will not work.

For issue #226 :Unless I'm mistaken, there is a QtCore::startDetached function, which could open (and pass thunderbird process number to) another program that would check for thunderbird and restart it

Something (in pseudo-code) like this:

a) in coapp:

(Yes, quick and dirty. I really don't know how to code with Qt; I only use PyQt. My coding skills in C++ are none).
