problem with vim and autocomplete popup

when trying to return to normal mode in vim by pressing escape, if the autocomplete popup in on, it will close the popup first, then i have to click again to go to normal mode, it's a niche problem but i think just having an option to toggle bypassing the popup would be great

You can check if this happens in latest Ace's kitchen sink. If it doesn't, might be able to figure out when they fixed that
