Main connection in multipath

If MAIN connection fails what happens with bonding network?
For example:
Multipath option must be enabled and one connection must be MAIN:
1st MAIN
2nd ENABLED
3rd INABLED

In past if MAIN connection fails then network not works beside there are 2 others in multipath.
